Open up your base. I used a base from Spareoom.net. (Thanks Gymfan!)

Go to Image>Adjustments>Levels. Click on auto. (In GIMP, you can either do auto levels or white balance.

Next, smooth Lucy's skin by blurring it. You can also sharpen her eyes and lips.

Duplicate the base, and set it to screen 60% opacity. This will brighten her skin. A little overbright, maybe, but the next step will help that.

Duplicate the screen layer and set it to soft light 100% opacity. Go to Filter>Other>High Pass. If you go to my previous tutorial (
here), you can download the high pass filter for GIMP. This gives Lucy's face a little more definition without over-brightening.

Make a new layer of 170920 and set it to exclusion 60% opacity. (This would equal two screen layers plus one subtract layer in GIMP. All three layers should be set to 60%) This will tone down the brightness a bit as well as give Lucy's skin a bit of a softer glow.

Make a new layer of f0e7ee and set it to color burn 100% opacity. Again this gives Lucy some definition, and brings out the shadows. (In GIMP, merge all layers before the next step.)

Go to Channel mixer, and input these settings: red output channel, red: 110, green: -10, blue: -10. For the green output channel, red: -5, green: 105, blue: 5. For the blue output channel, red: 10, green -5, blue: 110. This gives Lucy's skin a bluish-white tint, instead of a pinkish-white.

Make a new layer of 05112f and set it to exclusion 49% opacity. This adds a tiny bit of yellow to add a bit of warmth.

Make a new layer of ffd5cb and set it to soft light 40% opacity. This makes Lucy's hair richer and also preps Lucy's skin for the next layer.

Make a new layer of d0a17a and set it to multiply 20% opacity. This gives Lucy's skin a bit of a muted tone.

Open a new layer and set it to burn 20% opacity. Take a fuzzy brush with ffc0cb and paint over her lips. Open another new layer and set it to color burn 20% opacity. Take a fuzzy brush with ff1000 and paint over her lips again. These two layers bring out the color in Lucy's lips.

Open another new layer and set it to soft light 100% opacity. Take a fuzzy brush with 01fcff and paint over her hairbow. And voila! There you have it!
