Some in 30: Technical Game

So, I decided to participate in Round 1 at [livejournal.com profile] somein30. I was so excited when the mods decided open the community! ^^ The theme for this round sounded really interesting, so I decided that I wanted to do extra hard mode for this round. It was called extra hard mode for a reason, lol! I did experience some frustration and wasn't happy with some of the icons, but overall, I was pleased with them. Some of the themes were conflicting, so I had to get really creative. #3 was hard because adding a light texture to an already bright and vibrant icon is pretty difficult. I almost wish I had chosen a different fandom because some of themes were difficult to find caps for. I didn't realize there weren't very many full body shots or faraway shots. ^^' I think some of them turned out pretty well though like #2, 10, and 13.

I thought about doing a Kim Yu-na set because I wasn't quite happy with some of my Emma icons. I also thought about doing two sets, but since I've started working again, I didn't have as much time as I planned.

Things I'm Thankful for and Other Icons!

It looks like I let my icons accumulate again! ^^

For the first part of this post, I want to share some of the things that I'm thankful for. For one of the icon battles @ [livejournal.com profile] itsabattlefield, we were required to make 10 icons of things we were thankful for. I thought about doing a fun set (fandoms and such), but I decided to share what I'm truly thankful for (I think the last five might be kind of silly).

I know I haven't been on in so long, but things have gotten pretty busy between graduation and working 40 hours a week. I hardly have anytime to myself. Especially since I have to commute to work. :P

Here are some icons that have been piling up. I'm hoping to do an icon battle with [livejournal.com profile] aravisautarkeia. Is anyone else interested in doing one? Also, I'm planning to do another texture collaboration, if any one is interested.

I'm gonna try to do a Yu-na moodtheme to go with my new header. ^^ And some graphics from her Kiss and Cry! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited about it! It's been great so far!

Football, Figure Skating, Driving, and Icons?

What could be better?!?!?! Manchester United made it to the semis of the FA Cup!!!!! Hopefully, Park Ji-Sung will be well enough to get back in by then! And then the finals!!!!!

Also on the 21st is the World Figure Skating Championships! I'm excited to see Kim Yu-na skate to Giselle and Arirang! I can't wait to see her new costumes! It's gonna be great! ^^

Oh, yes, on Tuesday, I go to take my driver's test. Hopefully, I'll pass. I really need my license since I commute for work. And it's really past time since I'm nearly 24.

A Really Short and Random Icon Post

This is going to be a rather short and random icon post. Hence the title. ^^

I was pretty happy about my book review. I know it wasn't academic or anything. I could definitely pull that off, but I wanted to be more personable and real. I'm sure I need to work on it, but I'll have the chance soon. I ordered my next book, yesterday. I really excited because this isn't one of those obscure type books. It's a new book by Liz Curtis Higgs. The next one in her Ruth series. ^^ I've already read the 1st one and am dying for this next one! So you can look forward to another book review from moi!

There have been better days. . . but there have been worse days, too

We had some snow (technically ice) today. I heard a lot of people were freaking out, and a lot of grocery stores were out of milk, bread, and starter logs. I just sit back and laugh at my fellow Southerners. For most of my elementary years, I lived in the Midwest and the Northwest. I know what snow is like, and this "frost" that we got is nothing. So I just sit back in the house, sipping my tea. :D

The whole town basically shutdown. Even the Air Force base shut down, so Dad didn't have to go to work today. School was cancelled, and our homeschool co-op, which was supposed to start tomorrow, was cancelled too. The only thing that came through was the mail. Through rain, sleet, or hail. . . right?

We spent the whole morning cleaning the living room. Dad just finished tiling and sealing it, so Mom and us girls helped move the furniture back. The rest of this week will be devoted to my switching rooms with my youngest sister.

I would rather have been on the computer. :P Oh, well.

Yes! Finals are FINALLY over!

The subject says it all! After a quarter of stress stemming from taking not just one but TWO hard computer classes at the same time (what was I THINKING?), I am done with this semester and have only one more to go. Thankfully, I only have one computer class left! The rest will be several Bible classes.

I am thinking these two classes will take my GPA down even more. Maybe I will be able to graduate cum laude, just maybe. :(

Anyways, here are some icons. I will be making more now that I'm done with classes for the year. :D
