Reddish-Brown Coloring

A recreation of this:
The original icon was made in Photoshop, but I adapted it (a little bit) for GIMP.
Open your base. I made this base with this cap from Home of the Nutty.

Go to Color>Auto>White Balance. (This step can also be achieved through Auto Levels.)

Sharpen your base then blur the skin. You can sharpen her eyes and lips more if necessary.

Duplicate the base and set it to screen 100% opacity.

Duplicate the base and set it to soft light 100% opacity. Merge your layers together.

Go to your Channel Mixer (Color>Components>Channel Mixer) and input these settings. For the red output channel, red: 125, green: -30, blue: 0. For the green output channel, red: -15, green: 115, blue: 0. For the blue output channel, red: -58, green: 130, blue: 40. Leave Preserve Luminance unchecked.

Duplicate the merged layer and set it to soft light 50% opacity. Merge the layers together.

Go to Color>Hue/Saturation. Set the red saturation to -25.

Open a new layer and fill it with a9d1aa. Set the layer to burn 100% opacity.

Open a new layer and fill it with dcc9e0. Set the layer to soft light 100% opacity.

Merge the layers together. Then go to Color>Auto>White Balance. (Again this can be achieved through Auto Levels as well.) And voila!
